A Department of Chaplaincy is founded at IBS

IBS has established a Department of Chaplaincy, a new direction of ministry training led by Dr. Oleg Tsymbalyuk — a pastor of an evangelical church in Chicago with years of experience preparing chaplains alongside institutions in Ukraine.

A memorandum of cooperation has been signed with the Khmelnytskyi Humanitarian-Pedagogical Academy, carried out with administrative support from the Christian Rescue Service. Together they deliver two short academic programmes:

• Introduction to Chaplaincy
• Foundations of Christian Counselling

In February 2026, during the 20th Anniversary Prayer Breakfast of Ukrainian Week in Washington DC, IBS leadership met chaplains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to discuss master's-level training for the military chaplaincy service.
